Riley and I met in 2015 during our summer internship at Wiley Publishing in Indianapolis. Little did we know that first day on the job that we'd become friends for years to come. She helped make my first summer in a brand new city one for the books. Riley is full of smiles, and her vibrant personality shines through in these pictures. She embraces fun and silliness and is always willing to help out a friend.
Despite the chilly December air, we had a blast taking these photos. And, just for good measure, I threw in a little behind-the-scenes pic of how ridiculous I looked behind the lens today.
The Indiana University Singing Hoosiers perform their annual holiday concert, The Chimes of Christmas, at the IU Auditorium each December. Featuring Christmas and Hanukkah favorites, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, and guest artists from the Jacobs School of Music, the show is a great way to ring in the holiday season.
I performed with this ensemble from 2012-2016 as a first soprano, so I always feel right at home being their photographer. I also have a sister in the ensemble - and I may take a few too many photos of her, but can you blame me? Live performance photography always pulls me out of my comfort zone, but I have so much fun being immersed in the experience of live music.
Here are a few of my favorite moments from the show!
